Tour of Zorgvlied and Koopmansveentje

Your route starts at Zonnekamp Camping, in the middle of the forest near Zorgvlied. National Park Drents-Friese Wold is located on the border of Drenthe and Friesland, the largest contiguous forest area in the Netherlands after the Veluwe. In addition to forest, you will also find heaths, shifting sands and relaxing stream valley grasslands. The symbol of this beautiful nature reserve is the black woodpecker. You can hear it, but seeing it involves some luck. From the campsite you can walk straight into the vast forests of the national park. You walk into the village of Zorgvlied and then take a nice walk through the park. You will discover a nice spot here: the Koopmansveentje, a beautiful area with heathland and fens. Perfect for enjoying a picnic or a thermos of coffee!
