Description

Your walk starts at Leonardo Hotel Amsterdam City Center. From here you can walk to the Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam and the Johnny Jordaanplein, named after the famous folk singer. Nearby you will discover the 9 Streets, nice shopping area! Via the Royal Palace of Amsterdam you walk to De Waag, built in 1488 as part of the medieval city walls. Then you walk to the Dolhuis, where the mentally disturbed, problem drinkers and unruly convicts were locked up. The Former Spinhuis offered female beggars, alcoholics, thieves and prostitutes a place to spin. Intended as improvement institutes, these types of places were often used for cheap labour. Via the Begijnenhofje, Muntplein and the Gouden Bocht you walk through the Spiegelkwartier to the Museumplein and The Concertgebouw. You walk back to your starting point via the Vondelpark.
