Cycling route through the Land of Maas and Waal

From the De Gouden Ham recreation area you cycle through the Land van Maas en Waal. You drive past grasslands, fields and fruit orchards. You will also pass through picturesque villages, such as Horssen. While you cycle along the Kerkpad, you will see some beautiful nineteenth-century farms and three churches. After passing through Afferden, you cycle a few kilometers along the Waal and the floodplains. In Winssen you see a detached medieval church tower. You can get off at De Arend for a drink and a snack. Then it is time for the Gelderland castle history. First you will pass a well-preserved centuries-old castle in Hernen, some of which can be visited. In Batenburg further away you will pass the ruins of a medieval castle. Also beautiful. You cycle along the Maas to Appeltern.
