In the Land van Maas en Waal region, you'll enjoy a wonderful day of cycling. You'll ride through meadows, orchards, and floodplains. At the start of your route, you'll have a view of the Waal River. After crossing the polder, you'll arrive at the Meuse River. Here you'll pass Appeltern, where you'll pass two churches in quick succession: the St. Servatius Church from 1907 and the small Hall Church from 1858. In Batenburg, you'll see the Old St. Victor Church and the ruins of Batenburg Castle, one of the oldest castles in Gelderland. Further on, you'll pass an eighteenth-century corn mill. In Hernen, you'll see a fourteenth-century castle, and in Winssen, you'll enjoy a delicious meal at De Arend. Cycle along the Waalbanddijk dike to your destination.
