Tour of Slenaken from Noorbeek

Your walking route starts with a cup of coffee at Eetcafe Tinus in Noorbeek. From this beautiful town you will discover small villages in South Limburg today. Cycling enthusiasts are familiar with Hoogcruts: the route of the Dutch Championship has passed there regularly. You cycle past the ruins of the former fifteenth-century monastery. Then you walk through the Geuldal, a beautiful mosaic of meadows, fields and hedges. You also walk a bit into the Groote Bos. This old nature reserve is a remnant of an ancient forest that once grew on the entire Crapoel Plateau. A little later you cross the Gulpdal near Slenaken, one of the most beautiful stream valleys in the Netherlands. Via Slenaken you walk to Ulvend, a picturesque hamlet located exactly on the border of the Netherlands and Belgium.
