Tour of Geuldal, Gulpdal and Voerstreek

This route leads you through a beautiful landscape characterized by forest areas on and around the hills, interspersed with heathland. The Gulp (a branch of the Geul) and the Voer meander beautifully through the rolling landscape. Narrow roads always lead you to surprising views on top of the hill. You drive via Slenaken to the Voerstreek. You will also pass Libeek Castle, the oldest parts of which date from the thirteenth century. The fortress has been gradually converted into a tenant farm and it is the largest Limburg farm with a square courtyard. Get off at Eetcafe Tinus in Noorbeek! Then you will discover Groenendaal: a large nineteenth-century farm that was once a castle. You drive back via Mechelen and the Vijlenerbos. Here you have beautiful views through the trees!
