Round Lattrop and Bergvennen near Tilligte

Your walking route starts at Hotel & Restaurant Mössems. You are here in the middle of the famous Twente bocage landscape of rolling fields, streams and bushes. What a nice walk here, while enjoying the peace. First of all, you walk a bit along the Diversion Canal. Part of the water of the river Dinkel is led along this with a large bend northeast past Denekamp. Via Lattrop you walk to the Bergvennen, a nature reserve with moist grasslands and fens. It lies on a sand ridge between the Vecht and the Dinkel. In the last Ice Age, drifting sand gave the landscape here its sloping shape. The fens are flow-through fens: the water gradually drains to lower areas. They are fed by rainwater. You see large juniper bushes, beautiful!
