Tour of Lattrop and Bergvennen near Tilligte

Your walking route starts at Hotel & Restaurant Mössems. Here you are in the middle of the famous Twente coulisse landscape of rolling fields, streams and woods. What a wonderful place to walk, while enjoying the peace and quiet. First you walk a bit along the Omleidingskanaal. Part of the water of the Dinkel river is led along here with a large bend to the northeast past Denekamp. Via Lattrop you walk to the Bergvennen, a nature reserve with damp grasslands and fens. It is located on a sandy ridge between the Vecht and the Dinkel. In the last Ice Age, drifting sand gave the landscape here its rolling shape. The fens are flow-through fens: the water gradually runs off to lower areas. They are fed by rainwater. You see large juniper bushes there, beautiful!
