Mill route Kalenberg and Weerribben from Paasloo

From here you can discover the Weerribben, part of the De Weerribben-De Wieden national park. The area consists of open water, reed lands, swamp forests that cover no less than 35 square kilometers. Part of the Weerribben is used for reed cultivation, in these places you can see acid-loving trees such as the alder, rowan and birch. You can also see special mills. Tjaskermolen Ossenzijl/Kalenberg from 1977 is built in an open area, perfect for photos. The other mill in Kalenberg is the spider head De Wicher, built in 1982. Since small spider head mills are not very common in the Netherlands anymore, this is definitely a mill that you should take a look at. You also walk through Kalenberg, a sailing village that was only accessible by boat until the end of the fifties.
