Tour of Orvelte and Drenthe forests from Exloo

You start the route at Hotel Restaurant Het Wapen van Exloo. In Esdorp Exloo you cycle past the former Bebinghehoes, which served as a regional museum and later as a distillery. The monumental farm from 1722 was destroyed by fire at the end of March 2017. In the Drenthe forests you will still find an old-fashioned refreshing silence. The route also takes you through some characteristic Drenthe villages full of Saxon farms, such as Orvelte. You also drive through Boswachterij Odoorn with its vast heathland. It is wonderfully quiet here. There is a lookout tower at junction 6 to view the surroundings from above. Cyclists who like peace and quiet are in the right place in the rolling Exloo Forestry. The deeper you penetrate into the heart of the sea of trees, the quieter it becomes.
