A forest walk from Zorgvlied: Boschoord Estate

First have a cup of coffee at Park Drentheland and then put on your walking shoes. You first walk through the Drenthe village of Zorgvlied, which is in a beautiful location: on the edge of the Drents-Friese Wold National Park. From Zorgvlied you can walk straight into the Boschoord Estate, part of the national park. This area was developed by the Society of Benevolence. The soil turned out to be unsuitable for agriculture, so it was decided to plant forests there. In addition to forests, you will also find fens where special nature occurs. The Society of Benevolence has transformed part of the forest into moist heathland and patches of raised bog. This way the water is retained better and you will see the original nature again here - complete with animals such as the grass snake and viviparous lizard.
