Tour of the De Bannink country estate and Bathmen

Your walk starts in Colmschate, with a cup of coffee at Tapperij/Eethuis't Hof van Colmschate. You walk through a mosaic of forests, fields and arable land. In addition to a lot of natural beauty, you will also see historical buildings during this route, such as Saxon farms. You walk past the country estate De Bannink, which was founded in the 17th century at the Bannink farm on the Essener enk in the then bailiff's office of Colmschate. The country estate was founded by patricians from the Hanseatic city of Deventer, who wanted to escape the bad city climate. In Oude Molen you can see what the village is named after: mill De Leeuw, from 1856. In Bathmen you pass the fifteenth-century village church. Further on there are two beautiful corn mills. You walk back along the Schipbeek, a tributary of the IJssel. A beautiful day of walking full of variety!
