Tour of the De Bannink estate and Bathmen

Your walk starts in Colmschate, with a cup of coffee at Tapperij/Eethuis't Hof van Colmschate. You walk through a mosaic of forest, fields and fields. In addition to lots of natural beauty, you will also see historic buildings, such as Saxon farms, during this route. You walk past the De Bannink country estate, which was founded in the 17th century at the Bannink farm on the Essener enk in the then sheriff's office Colmschate. The country estate was founded by patricians from the Hanseatic city of Deventer, who wanted to escape the bad city climate. In Oude Molen you will see what the village is named after: the De Leeuw mill, from 1856. In Bathmen you will pass the fifteenth-century village church. Further on there are two beautiful flour mills. You walk back along the Schipbeek, a side stream of the IJssel. A beautiful walking day full of variety!
