Round Boompjesven and Loonse Drunense Duinen

Your walk starts at Hotel Herberg & Brasserie D\\\'n Dries in Giersbergen. In Giersbergen time seems to have stood still a bit, the hamlet consists almost entirely of thatched long gable farms. From here you walk through the Loonse and Drunense Duinen. In this national park you will find extensive moors and quiet forests. And of course the famous sand dunes to which this area owes its nickname: the Brabant Sahara. The route leads you along the vast sand dunes, but also through the quieter eastern part. Here you walk through a more humid area around Boompjesven, which connects the dry sandy area with the wet swamp area De Brand. Now Natuurmonumenten is restoring the marshy fen area to its former glory. This is how the heath returns here.
