Walking tour Loonse Drunense Duinen

Starting point of this route is Resort Kaatsheuvel BV From here you walk through the Loonse and Drunense Duinen. In this national park you will find vast heaths and quiet forests. And of course the famous shifting dunes to which this area owes its nickname: the Brabant Sahara. You walk to the ice rink, a fen that was dug out in the thirties to use as an ice rink in the winter. You can skate up to four hundred meters around an island. Indeed, the fen regularly freezes over in the winter, a beautiful sight! But the water is also beautiful to see. On the way back you cross part of the drifting dunes: you will find 30 square kilometers of living drifting sand here, deposited by polar winds in the Ice Age.
