Tour of Schouwen-Duiveland by bike

At the Oosterschelde you will pass the Flood Museum where you can take your time to learn all about this drama. The museum is housed in the four caissons that closed the last gap in the dike at Ouwerkerk. Zierikzee has no fewer than 568 monuments. The most famous building is the Sint-Lievensmonstertoren from 1506. The old Noord- and Zuidhavenpoort at the Oude Haven are two of the three remaining city gates of Zierikzee. Then you cycle to Brouwershaven, with fortress walls and again many monuments. You cycle back via the hamlet of Schuddebeurs. Many grand houses with accompanying parks were built here in the Golden Age. Fortunately, a number of beautiful villas escaped the violence of the Second World War.
