Description
The route takes you through the area around Julianadorp. The first part of the route takes you between the colorful bulb fields. In honor of the birth of Princess Juliana in 1909, the hamlet of Loopuyt was renamed Julianadorp. Near junction 1 you will see the Groote Kaap lighthouse. The original tower was built in 1966, but replaced in 1985. The current steel tower is almost seventeen meters high. The Groote Kaap is still used to signal water traffic. You can walk the last kilometers in the shelter of the footpath through the dunes. Every now and then you enjoy the views over the polder and the North Sea from a dune top.
