Tour of Woldmeer, Paterswoldsemeer and Peizermaden from Groningen

First you go into the city, you cycle past the Groninger Museum and you ride to the Woldmeer. You ride through characteristic old villages such as Engelbert to Haren. A little later you come along the adjacent Paterswoldsemeer that was created in the sixteenth century by digging up peat. The Paterswoldsemeer has been voted the most beautiful place in the Northern Netherlands, so get off for a while! In the countryside of Groningen you soon look out over the Peizermaden, a beautiful lowland peat area with woods, hedgerows and rough grasslands. Groningen also has a number of beautiful city parks. The City Park was built at the beginning of the twentieth century to a design by landscape architect Singer.
