Tour of Lelystad's nature reserves

From here you can take a beautiful bike ride along the nature reserves that Lelystad has to offer. Lelystad Nature Park was created in the 1970s as a recreational area for the residents of Lelystad. You can admire a reconstructed prehistoric settlement and a shipwreck from the nineteenth century. You continue along the edge of the Hollandse Hout, a relatively young and varied forest west of Lelystad. Poplars, willows, alders, oaks and beeches grow there. You cycle here four meters below sea level! From the dike you will soon have a beautiful view of the Oostvaardersplassen, the famous new wilderness. With a bit of luck you will see the white-tailed eagle that breeds in this area over skerries.
