Description
Via Spaarndam-West, the oldest part of the village of Spaarndam, you cycle to Haarlem. The old centre of Haarlem is surrounded by canals and moats. You will find many old streets and characteristic monuments. On the Grote Markt you will find historical buildings such as the meat hall from 1603 and the beautiful medieval Sint Bavokerk. The Town Hall originally dates from 1370. Get off your bike to enjoy the charm of Haarlem at your leisure. At Overveen you cycle along the edge of Landgoed Elswout, one of the most beautiful estates in the Netherlands. You cycle back through the wooded areas of Nationaal Park Zuid-Kennemerland, a beautiful, quiet nature reserve.
