Description
Your walk starts with a cup of coffee at Bistro Festa between Sibculo and Vroomshoop, above Vriezenveen. From this beautiful location you can immediately enjoy a nice walk around the lake De Vlegge. After a circle around the lake you walk to Sibculo. In Sibculo you will then pass the grounds of the Cistercian Monastery of the Great Galilee, which was built around the year 1400. Little has been preserved of this monastery, but its history is kept alive in the museum 'Visible Past'. You will find the museum between junction J11 and J13. If you want to visit the monastery garden, go a short distance from J10 to J14. The garden is traditionally divided into planes. You will find medicinal herbs and plants that refer to the Bible.
