The Weipoort is very valuable in terms of both cultural history and landscape. The three rows of buildings, which can be seen from the road and the bridges over the Vliet, make the Weipoort unique. Old farms with original outbuildings and drawbridges give the ribbon an authentic character. The surrounding open polder landscape is also clearly visible here.
The big mill
De Groote Molen is a seesaw mill from 1626. This mill is the third mill to drain the Groote Polder. The first Groote Molen was built in 1485, the second in 1545 and the third in 1626. In very old documents there is talk of a polder'under the large mill\\\'. The polder is therefore probably named after the mill and not the other way around. The mill can be visited when the blades are turning.
