Nature lovers can indulge themselves in Zoetermeer. The city is located on the edge of the Green Heart and is therefore an excellent base for trips into nature. On the edges there are forests and city parks where hikers and outdoor sports enthusiasts can always find something to their liking.
The Bentwoud forms a green border of Zoetermeer. It is a new nature reserve that is in full development. In 2000, the first trees for this forest were planted and the wetlands were established. A special forest is slowly emerging here where visitors can stroll around and spot birds. The public golf course and the children's tree forest, a symbol of new life, are definitely worth a visit.
The Land of Wijk en Wouden shows the beautiful polder landscape. Explore this area on foot, by bike or by boat and don't forget to stop at one of the many farm shops to enjoy homemade cheese or farm ice cream.
