Together with ten other villages, Wateringen forms the municipality of Westland, a dynamic municipality known for greenhouse horticulture and the beach.
Westland, located in the Hof van Delfland, has a lot to offer in terms of tourism. Discover the tranquility of the Westland coast, the special character of the eleven village centers and the unique horticultural cluster that is internationally known for its innovative power. In more and more places you can view the inside of the greenhouses and taste delicious products. As the real Westlander says:"All gold\\\".
Tips in the area
Westlands Museum
The history of Westland and the development of (greenhouse) horticulture come to life in the Westlands Museum. Products such as table grapes, peaches, plums and asparagus are grown in the historic garden. Here you will also see a furnished garden shed from ± 1900.
Address: Middel Broekweg 154, Honselersdijk. Opening hours: Tuesday to Saturday and every 1st Sunday of the month from 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM. July and Aug. open extra from Tuesday to Friday 10:30 am - 5:00 pm.
Naaldwijk
Naaldwijk is considered the center of Westland and is a nice place for a stopover. There are several monuments on Wilhelminaplein, such as the reformed church (early 14th century), the Heilige Geesthofje (1496) and the Raadhuis (1632), which functioned as a courthouse for a long time. The impressive FloraHolland flower auction is located just outside Naaldwijk.

Tourist Interchange Points (TOP 's) are the perfect places to start a bike ride or a walk. In these places you can park your car for free on the edge of beautiful areas. From here you can enjoy cycling and walking via the nodes. The TOP 's are easy to find by following the signs along the roads. You can recognize the TOP by a green steel culm of 5.5 meters high.
