Cultural history of the municipality of Reusel-De Mierden

This cycling tour, which starts and ends at VVV Reusel-De Mierden, takes you through the history of the villages of Reusel, Hooge Mierde, Lage Mierde and Hulsel.

These villages used to belong to the abbey of Averbode, and you can still find all sorts of things about them. A white house on the Lensheuvel in Reusel, a Norbertine on the Poppelsedijk in Hooge Mierde. The war has also left its mark, at the eventful years museum in Hooge Mierde you will get a nice impression of this, a memorial sign in Lage Mierde at the Vloeieind, where the Moluccan community lived in barracks in the past. Each village has its own church, chapel and works of art. Cycling through the fields and past these objects is what makes this route unique in the Brabantse Kempen.
