Tour of Kaag and Kagerplassen

The beautiful nature, the historic castle, the cozy center of Sassenheim and the authentic streets of Warmond, you will pass on this route. In the spring you can enjoy the extensive bulb fields that are in full bloom. The ruins of Teylingen are a ring castle with a residential tower. The most famous inhabitant of the castle is Jacoba van Beieren (1433), who comes from the highest aristocratic circles. The ruin is open to the public. On the shopping street of Sassenheim lies the beautiful park Rusthoff, originally a beach shore forest. The park was laid out in 1830 in English landscape style, as the garden of Rusthoff country estate. Just before the end of the route you will discover a nice place for a cup of coffee on the recreational island of Koudenhoorn in the Kagerplassen near Warmond: Brasserie Coazy.
