A day in the Salland countryside ... from Deventer!

Get to know the Overijssels Canal and the Schipbeek during this special cycling route. In the past, these waterways served as the most important trade connections over the water in Salland. In addition, you see and taste the Salland countryside, along the way you encounter both the present and the past. Moreover, there is an opportunity to visit two windmills: Korenmolen De Hegeman & Corn mill De Leeuw.
In addition, you will pass Zuivelboerderij'n Aanvang (between nodes 97 & 99) with a country store & cow promenade. You also cycle past Farm Museum De Pothaar (between nodes 74 & 12), where the former Salland farm life is shown through traditional costumes, photos and tools. De Pothaar is also a resting place, where you can enjoy a delicious cup of coffee or tea.
In Bathmen it is advisable to get off at Kloas cheese shop in't Hof (between nodes 9 & 17), in this cheese shop cheese and dairy products are sold from their own farm in the outskirts of Bathmen.
At the end of the route, a cup of coffee with real Deventer Koek should not be missed, which you can best taste at the Deventer Koekwinkel on De Brink city square.
