Tour of the Horte Estate near Zwolle

Your walking route starts at Restaurant Zalen De Mol. From here you walk to the De Horte estate, built in the early 17th century in a predominantly French style. The sleek avenues still bear witness to that time. You can enjoy the symmetry in hedges, orchard, grape greenhouses and the sequoia Sequoiadendron. Free-standing trees and winding paths provide surprising views. In addition to the country house, you will also find a gardener's house, farm'De Horteboer\\\' and the former billiard room'het Witte huis\\\'. Landhuis De Horte was first mentioned in 1391, when it was still a farm. The heart of the current house dates from approximately 1760. The current appearance dates from the second half of the nineteenth century. This has been the home base of Landschap Overijssel since the 1970s.
