Your walking route starts at Hotel De Kastanjefabriek just outside Eibergen. From here you walk through a picturesque area with the Mallumsche Molen as its center, a monumental corn and peel mill from 1748 on the Berkel river. It is the only peeling mill in the Netherlands that grinds using water power. Demonstrations are given by the volunteer miller on Saturday afternoon. The mill, the lock, the Muldershuis from 1753 and the canal of the former manor are four separate national monuments. You will also see a beautiful monumental half-timbered barn here. A landscape artist has now constructed a labyrinth at the location of the Mallum manor. You walk along the bank of the Berkel to the Information Visitor Center about the Berkel. A beautiful rural loop through the countryside brings you back to your starting point.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
