Cycling route Delden and surroundings

After enjoying a delicious lunch on the cozy terrace of Gasterij't Oaldershoes, you take a bike ride through the countryside of Delden. Here you drive on car-free roads through a landscape of rolling fields, grasslands and small forest plots. Ideal for a day of relaxation. Just below Delden you cross the Twentekanaal that runs from Zutphen to Enschede. This waterway was constructed in the period from 1930 to 1938. Just past junction 46 you cycle a bit through the Reggedal, after which you cross the branch of the Twentekanaal that continues to Almelo. The last part of the route takes you across the centuries-old Twickel Estate. Here you will see a beautiful castle, but also nineteenth-century monumental farms and barns. The renowned gardens are worth a visit.
