Description
Cycle through the Arnhem Nijmegen region. Over the centuries, the water of the Waal, the Rhine and the IJssel has had a major influence on the living conditions of the residents in this region of Gelderland. Often positive, but often pieces of land and even entire villages have been drowned. This cycle route takes you past some of these special places.
During this cycling tour through the eastern part of the Arnhem Nijmegen region you will cycle past drowned Herwen, Westervoort and Leuven and during the extension you can cycle past drowned Tournai. However, you will also pass natural beauty and existing villages.
