Description

For years, smugglers from Belgium and the Netherlands were active in the surrounding forests of Strijbeek. This walking route takes you in their footsteps. The smuggling path runs along the Goudbergven to the Belgian nature reserve Den Elsakker. Already in the Goudbergven you will experience the mysterious atmosphere surrounding smuggling among the hills, oaks and pines. The route takes you past the Patersmoer, a fen that has been off-limits for years. The start and end point of this special route is De Smokkelaar Burgundisch Enjoyment in Strijbeek. The farmhouse from 1936 has been beautifully restored and has a warm and cozy appearance. This way you can enjoy your snack and drink even more at this hospitable and child-friendly location. In addition to pancakes, there are also other tasty (smuggled) meals on the menu.
