Route from Leeuwarden to Buitenpost, the border with Groningen. If you like a headwind at the start: take this route with an easterly wind. The southern side is more open, the northern route is more sheltered. So it can go either way, depending on the wind.
Burgum offers catering, Buitenpost offers the Kruidhof, but there are many more smaller break places with coffee/tea.
