Stairs through the National park

A beautiful cycling route through the changing landscape of Schiermonnikoog National Park. The route takes you along the Waddendijk towards salt marsh & Kobbeduinen. The salt marsh is a protected bird breeding area. Then you cycle west again and you pass the large Wassermann bunker. Enjoy the overwhelming view from this bunker.

Now that you have regained your strength, the bike ride continues. Via the old regions in the village with the picturesque island houses, you now go back to the Wadden Sea, on the dike is a monument, the Bank van Banck. At his own expense, Mr. Banck built our current dike, which protects the village against the sea. There is a stone bench at his favorite spot on the dike.

The route continues around the Westerplas, on the south side there is a bird hide. The route continues through the dunes and the forest.
