Due to the reconstruction of the Afsluitdijk, it is closed to cyclists until 2022. You must therefore adjust the last two routes. This will be replaced by'Rondje Friesland\\\' to return to Stavoren and return to Enkhuizen with the'Bep Glasius\\\' to continue your route towards Amsterdam. Sorry for the inconvenience!
The Evacue is a multi-day 'pilgrimage' in memory of the hunger marches and the necessary shelter for thousands of evacuees in Friesland during the Hunger Winter in the Second World War. Many people from the Randstad ventured to the north and east of the Netherlands and found salvation there, including in Friesland. Among them were also the child evacuees. With'The Evacue\\\' we want to offer you the opportunity to undertake and experience a'pilgrimage\\\' that contributes to the realization that'sufficient food\\\' and' \\'freedom\\\' cannot be taken for granted and cannot be bought for anything!Due to the reconstruction of the Afsluitdijk, it is closed to cyclists until 2022. The tour goes from Amsterdam Central Station via Monnickendam, Volendam and Hoorn towards Enkhuizen. Then you take the ferry'Bep Glasius\\\' to Stavoren. From Stavoren,'The Evacue\\\' takes you, in memory of the hunger marches,'zigzagging\\\' through the Southwest Friesland National Landscape to the'Afsluitdijk\\\'. The dike that saved many in'44/\\\'45. The tour then takes you through North Holland back to Amsterdam Central Station.
