Along Vestingstad and polder villages

A large part of this route follows the winding river Giessen. And that never gets boring! Because unlike some roads in the polder that cut straight through the land from A to B, this road follows the natural course of the peat river. Much wider is the Beneden Merwede that flows past Hardinxveld-Giessendam. The fortified town of Gorinchem is the start and end point of this route.
