Tilburg Park Route along Loonse Drunense Dunes

Your route begins between Tilburg and Rijen. From there, you'll cycle along a beautiful rural route to the Loonse en Drunense Dunes, which you'll pass through. In this national park, you'll find not only the famous drifting dunes, but also expansive heathlands and tranquil forests. The Noorderplas has been significantly restored, with much of the vegetation cleared so that the entire former sand extraction pond is now visible. Two small bridges connect it to the Noorderbos. Tilburg developed into Brabant's most important wool town around 1600. In the city, you'll cycle past beautiful historic parks, such as the Oude Warande, established in 1712, one of the few well-preserved star-shaped forests in the Netherlands. Along the way, stop at the Uitspanning 't Blauwe Schaap for a drink and a snack—a welcome break!
