On the way you will pass the farm of the same name in Libeek, the oldest parts of which also date from the thirteenth century. There used to be a knightly house on this spot, but after the castle changed owners in the sixteenth century, the fortress was gradually converted into a leasehold farm. Libeek has the largest farm in Limburg, which is built around a square courtyard and the house, which is built of marlstone, was built and improved in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.

The Meschermolen is also beautiful. The overshot watermill from 1699 was used as a corn mill and it is the first watermill on the Voer stream. The mill was in service for centuries and was only shut down in the early 1950s. The mill was no longer needed then, because an electric hammer mill came to the village. Between 1996 and 1998 the mill was restored and made operational again. The mill can be visited by appointment.

Another watermill is the Breustermolen, also called the Molen van Richelle. This mill, which was built in the wing of a farm, also ground on the Voer. The first mention of this watermill dates back to 1221, when it was used as a ban mill of the Breust estate. In 1791, a major renovation took place, in which the mill owes its facade stone with that year.

Eijsden Castle, the next attraction, is in the top of the Dutch Unesco Monuments. The historic castle consists of two perpendicular wings that are connected by a corner tower. There is a gatehouse with forecourt and a park that is freely accessible.

And while you're in the area, why not learn something about the history of the area and antiquity at the Musée de la Montagne Saint Pierre. The Musée du Silex, located in the cellars of the Eben-Ezer tower, will teach you more about the interesting flint.
