Description
Cycling in South Limburg means enjoying the special cultural history of a unique part of the Netherlands. It is sometimes a bit of a climb, but the beautiful panoramas make the effort more than worth it.
Geuldal
You drive into the Geuldal, one of the most beautiful landscapes in the Netherlands. The Wingbergermolen, a watermill from 1844, is located on the river. Then you drive through Bommerig and Helle. Two picturesque hamlets where time seems to pass a little slower, a good way to switch back. Back at the Geul you will soon pass Hotel Hoeve de Plei, a nice spot to sit on a terrace.
Voerstreek
Gulpen is the next gem on your route. Here you see the striking church tower to which St. Peter's Church was once attached. The church tower dates from the thirteenth century. De Plank Eating Drinking Sleeping is a refreshing stop on the way to the border village of Ulvend. You drive back to Epen via the Voerstreek.
