Through the heart of Maastricht

Cycling through the heart of Maastricht, along the riverbank and over the Maasboulevard, is a great experience. The first attraction of the cycle route is Château Neercanne, built on Roman fortifications. A little further on you will pass Huis Blankenberg. The castle was built around 1825 on the foundations of a medieval fortress in the shape of a lighthouse. The last attraction of the cycle route is the Libeek farm. This is a large castle-like farm that was built around the thirteenth century. It is the largest square farm in Limburg. The marlstone house dates from the 16th century.
