Description

You enter the Leenderbos through the authentic hamlet of Leenderstrijp. Sand drifts and trees adorn the landscape here. The forests are becoming more and more varied and more and more forest animals are finding their way there. In De Malpie you cycle close to fens and a stream. On the way you can see two windmills. The Heimolen was built on a drifting sand hill and purchased by Staatsbosbeheer. In 1940 a severe storm destroyed the mill, which would not be rebuilt until the 21st century. The Venbergse Watermolen was first mentioned in 1227, when the mill was owned by a sister order. In Soerendonk you get off for a cup of coffee at the beautiful café De Bout.
