Description
The School House
The starting point of the route is at the tourist transfer point near junction 53. From here you cycle through the beautiful landscape towards Holysloot. Although it does not bear the title of tea house, you can thoroughly enjoy this former home of the village master from 1875. You can then leave the picturesque village with the ferry* - which always runs between 9:30 AM and 5:00 PM.
Delicious cups of tea and cake
After cycling for about an hour you will arrive at Theetuin Overleek. Swaying reeds, whistling birds and a beautiful view are what you get here. Taste all kinds of homemade delicacies or rent one of the whisper boats to take to the water. Your appetite will certainly be satisfied on this tour. Then cycle to Monnickendam and Zuiderwoude back to the point where you started your tour. Enjoy the view over vast meadows along the way.
*The ferry runs from mid-April to June and on Saturdays and Sundays in September. The ferry sails daily in July and August.

In Laag Holland are the rustic villages of yesteryear. While cycling you will find Dutch history in the beautiful straight polder lines and the protected city and village views. Low Holland is a national landscape. The Defense Line of Amsterdam and the Beemster have been placed on the World Heritage list by UNESCO.
