It is nice to walk in and around Cothen. Just outside the village you walk on car-free roads past pollard willows and fruit orchards. Especially in the spring, the flowering fruit trees create a beautiful scene. At junction 23 cross the Kromme Rijn. At the beginning of the common era, this small river formed part of the Limes, the border of the Roman Empire. Now you can enjoy the peace and quiet, ideal for a day of relaxation. Back in Cothen you pass the St. Peter and Paul Church from 1906. Further on you pass the Rhijnestein Estate, which enjoys a nationally protected status. The history of the castle goes back to the Middle Ages, the current building was renovated in the nineteenth century. Your walk ends with a drink and snack at Landwinkel and Schenkerij De Kersenhut.
