Description
The Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park is known for its natural beauty and the many monumental country houses. An ideal cycling region. From Maarn you can drive straight into the Cape Forests. You pass Poorthuis Ruiterberg from 1917, a little later you drive through the Kromme Rijn region with its extensive grasslands and fruit orchards. In Cothen you can take a look at Rhijnestein Castle, further on you will pass through the picturesque Werkhoven. While you see the Utrechtse Heuvelrug rising on the horizon, you pass Huize Leeuwenburgh from 1657. Get off at Buitenlust Reyck to enjoy a nice lunch at your leisure before driving back into the woods. You cycle to Den Treek Estate, a beautiful place on the edge of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. You drive back to Maarn via Woudenberg.
