Sustainable energy bicycle tour around Deurne, Energy Port Peelland initiative, along old and new history of the use of sustainable energy and culture.:

  1. starting at the Ossenbeemd parking lot (Park, ruin, Hertenkamp, small castle and water mill). 
  2. Route then follows land 2 old windmills (Holten\\\'s Molen and Maria Antoinette) to the south to special Brabant (Peelbreek en forgotten greetings). 
  3. Then to the Griendstveen past the Toon Kortooms museum, the Morgenstond and Zonneweide't Veen. 
  4. Then back to Liessel via old windmill folk friend. Back through the woods to Deurne for a visit to Zonnepark de Vlaas.
  5. Then to Vlierden, past windmill Johanna-Elisabeth.
  6. To the west, via the Brouwhuissche Heide, via Zandbos back to Deurne station.Via de Romein, past museum de Wieger, via Centrum back to the starting point.

Holten's Molen

This belt mill from 1890 was expanded in 1893 with an oil mill. In 1909 the mill was connected to a tree saw. This gave the mill, originally a flour mill, three functions at the same time. In 1942 the mill got streamlined blades, which suddenly meant that much less wind was needed to grind. From 1960 the mill was no longer used and then Holten's mill quickly fell into disrepair. In 1969, a roadside fire spread to the mill and caused heavy damage. Recovery was not considered and the future of the mill was feared, but from 1990 the Holten 's Molen foundation took care of the belt mill. Nowadays the mill runs on a voluntary basis again.
