Tour of IJmond - Velsen, Beverwijk, Wijk aan Zee and Heemskerk

This route takes you through the versatile IJmond region. The area consisting of the municipalities of Velsen, Beverwijk and Heemskerk. The route takes you past the estates of Beeckestijn, Waterland, Velserbeek, Duin & Kruidberg and Marquette, but also through the ports of IJmuiden, over the locks at IJmuiden, past the impressive TaTa Steel complex, through the villages of Wijk aan Zee, Heemskerk, Santpoort and Driehuis and through the nature reserves of South Kennemerland and the Kennemerduinen. The route can also be cycled in two parts. The northern route above the North Sea Canal and the southern route below the North Sea Canal can actually be started at any point.
