On the E-bike through Goeree-Overflakkee and Brabant

Old villages, views over the water, the Delta Works and a refreshing expanse. You will experience it all on this beautiful route through Goeree-Overflakkee and the northwest of Brabant.

Volkerakdam
You will soon drive onto the Volkerak Dam from 1969, the fifth project of the Delta Works. On the left you look out over the Hellegatsplaat, an unspoilt nature reserve. On Goeree-Overflakkee it is quiet cycling on car-free roads. You pass through the village of Achthuizen, in Oude-Tonge you pass De Korenbloem: a corn mill from 1748.

Philipsdam
The Philips Dam is also part of the Delta Works. This structure was completed in 1987. Cycling across the dam you can get a breath of fresh air while enjoying views over the water and the Krammer locks. You drive a short distance across the Sint Philipsland peninsula, after which you drive back into the Brabant polders. You pass through Steenbergen, a former fortified town with a cozy old center.
