Natural beauty in the Hoeksche Waard

Explore the Hoeksche Waard by bike. This island consists of approximately sixty centuries-old polders in which the characteristic cultural landscape has been well preserved. You will also pass through Spijkenisse and some nature reserves on the Oude Maas.

New Beijerland
Soon after boarding, you cross Het Spui, a tidal river that was created by a flood in the sixteenth century. From the dike in Nieuw-Beijerland you have a beautiful view of the marina, and you can also see the De Swaen mill from 1703. In the polders you can get a breath of fresh air while enjoying the peace and space.

Second Heinenoordtunnel
You cycle through the picturesque Heinenoord, further on you drive through the Second Heinenoord Tunnel under the Oude Maas. At the river you then drive many kilometers through the varied nature. You will pass through the Jan Gerritsepolder, where you will pass the Gaatkensbult: a work of art that also serves as a lookout hill! The adjacent Carnisse Grienden and Rhoonse Grienden are small-scale nature reserves with freshwater tides, a rarity! From the Spijkenisser Bridge you have a beautiful panorama of the beautiful surroundings.
