E-bike route through beautiful Drenthe

You start the route at De Kippesthee Koffie & Thee. In the alternately wooded and open landscape you drive through hamlets such as Balinge, Garminge, Matinge and Bruntinge. You also cycle a bit through Boswachterij Dwingeloo, the nature reserve that is part of Het Dwingelderveld National Park. The forest consists mainly of Scots pine, although plots of deciduous forest have also emerged in recent years. You will also see heathlands, peat bogs and juniper bushes. The Boerenveensche Plassen is a reserve that consists of an almost flat, barren heathland with many peaty depressions, fens and peat wells. Especially during the wet period, you will see puddles, puddles and more puddles here. The old villages of Gees and Aalden have a protected villagescape. Not surprising, because the old part of Aalden consists entirely of Saxon farms.
