Description

This cycling route leads you through Beijerland, also known as the Hoeksche Waard. The dikes in the landscape are centuries old, as are the windmills. Windlust windmill is a round stone scaffolding mill from 1853. Until 1952, the mill ground grain on a professional basis. It is open regularly. The Good Hope Mill in Mijnsheerenland from 1749 is also a flour mill. After a cup of coffee and maybe a bite to eat at Eterij-Tapperij De Platte Reedijk you drive on. The mill of Goidschalxoord was built in 1718 as a flour mill. Be sure to stop by the Hoeksche Waard Regional Museum, located in two historic farms that adjoin each other. The ground sailer De Hoop in Maasdam, built in 1822, closes the parade of windmills that passes you today.
