Old Overijssel estates

This cycling route through Salland introduces you to the estates around Heino. The Het Nijenhuis estate is one of the best preserved estates in Overijssel. This fourteenth-century castle now houses Museum de Fundatie, so that in addition to the extensive art collection, you can also view the manor from the inside. You pass the De Colckhof estate and the Den Alerdinck estate. The De Colckhof estate already existed around 1300, the neoclassical country house dates from 1840. Havezate Den Alerdinck has been the residence of various noble families for centuries. The English gardens on both estates were among the first in Overijssel in that style. Of course, during this ride you will also enjoy the Salland landscape in which fields, meadows and forest plots alternate. The route starts and ends in Heino. In the center of this cozy village you will see another nice sight: an authentic village pump. According to an old legend, the pump only gives water to people with a clear conscience.
