Tour of estates near Vilsteren

This route starts at Restaurant De Witte Gans. With this country estate cycle route you can enjoy wide views in an idyllic landscape, in which country estates, manors and even a medieval castle pass your field of vision. You pass Dalfsen and the country estate village of Vilsteren. Huize Vilsteren, the church and the windmill are the eye-catchers of the village and almost the entire village belongs to the estate. Around Vilsteren you will still find traces of the old river landscape: hidden in the greenery are dammed river bends or meanders, which are home to a rich flora and fauna. The overgrown river dunes provide even more variety. You continue through an esland landscape with heathland and forest to Kasteel Rechteren, the crown jewel of the Overijssel manors. The oldest part, the 25-metre-high residential tower, dates from 1315.
